Phlebotomy Education

Complete Phlebotomy Training (CPT) is approved by California's Department of Public Health, Laboratory Field Services as well as by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education to provide high-quality education in the field of Phlebotomy.

You can become a California Certified Phlebotomist through our short-term educational program. You will receive professional instruction in all aspects of phlebotomy,  including an extensive clinical externship which will prepare you to pass the National Exam, get certified, and start your successful new career.

This short-term course is ideal for non-medical persons as well as those medical professionals already in the field such as MA's, CNA's, EMT's, LVN's! For those looking to begin a new career in health care, the phlebotomy industry claims starting pay from $15.00 per hour and up. Our goal is to ensure that your new career advances with the highest level of knowledge and skill.

Phlebotomy is a rapidly growing profession with with numerous possibilities for employment.   A certified phlebotomist may work within the hospital, an independent laboratory, a doctor's office, the blood bank, health clinics,or even mobile phlebotomy service… the choice is yours!

Why Certify?

California has the highest standards for Phlebotomy certification in the nation. The new standards in California established in 2003,set the tone for phlebotomy education throughout the United States, producing well trained, knowledgeable entry-level lab professionals. Employers are now required to hire certified phlebotomists to ensure compliance with California's Department of Public Health.

How Long Does it Take?

From start to finish, you will complete the entire course in less than 90 hours.  We offera a convenient class schedule which consists of weekday or weekend classes available for those with busy schedules. To be eligible, you must have either a High School diploma or a GED.

How Much Does the Program Cost?

The cost of the program is broken down into three class sections for ease of payment:

The Basic Class (20-22 hours) is $550.00, the Advanced Class (20-22 hours) is $550.00, and the Clinical Class (40+ hours) is $675.00, this fee covers all lab supplies, an embroidered scrub top, a disposable lab coat and your background check. There is a one-time (non-refundable) registration fee of $250.00. For the complete program tuition, you will make payments each week starting with a deposit of $616.00 which will cover your registration, textbook and part of your Basic program. You will invest a total of $2025.00 for this affordable and interesting profession.

Our school promotes and teaches the art and study of phlebotomy. Our courses are taught by accredited, knowledgeable, and professional staff that are certified in many fields in addition to phlebotomy. Our School is approved by California's Department of Public Health, Laboratory Field Services. We have been successfully teaching California's future phlebotomists since 2003.

The state of California, as of April 9, 2003, has implemented certification requirements for those who currently practice phlebotomy, or wish to do so. All phlebotomists and students must take a California approved phlebotomy course, and upon completion, pass a national exam.  If you have had phlebotomy experience in the last 5 years, you may only need our advanced class to be eligible for the certification test and licensinging required by the state of California.

Note: Students from other schools are welcome to take our Clinical courses, based on certain eligibility requirements.
